There are a number of programs to consider for immigration to Ontario. It is perhaps, the best-known province within Canada due to the fact that Toronto, the nation’s largest city, is in the south of Ontario and close to 40% of Canadians live in the province. 

Canada’s capital, Ottawa, is just a few hours drive from Toronto and this culturally diverse province has communities in both the north and south regions. Many individuals choose to settle on the shores of the Great Lakes in urban areas, while others prefer a bit more space and choose more rural northern towns. 

If you have a job offer from an Ontario-based employer, you may be eligible for one of three streams: Foreign Worker Stream, International Student Stream or In-Demand Skills Stream. There are also three streams for those with ought-after skills and experience: Human Capital Priorities Stream, Skilled Trades Stream and the French-speaking Skilled Worker Stream. 

Those with a Masters or PhD degree from an Ontario University have their own streams to apply under as do foreign entrepreneurs with great new business ideas that can benefit the province and the country.
